Road trip

Moms birthday is next week so Corrie and I headed down south to see her and mamaw and celebrate. It was a quick trip, but it was nice to go to a much quieter house for a bit and enjoy some girl time. Happy birthday!

Back and forth

Sam has had the most trouble adjusting to Charlie.  I'm not sure why hes so afraid of him.  Sam will tell us daily he loves Charlie and some days he does great with him. Other days, he can't stand to walk within 10 feet of Charlie.  The silly part is that if Charlie were a kid, he would be most like Sam.
We started training with Charlie last night. It was pretty awesome.  We're already seeing a difference. I was hesitant to pay that much for dog training, but the quality and level of attention make it 100% worth it.  I'm looking forward to the dog we're going to have at the end of the session and hoping Sam and Ellie will be his new best friend.

#2

After a week of begging Sam to let us pull out his second loose tooth, he finally got it out almost by himself.  The tooth has been hanging on by a thread, but Sam has been terrified to let Jon yank it. After getting hair in his mouth during a hair cut, he was trying to get hair out.  He accidentally pulled his tooth forward and it started bleeding.  Jon gave it a tug and it was out.  Thank goodness.  This tooth has been the cause of too much drama the past week!

Canine Evolution

Charlie officially starts puppy training next week.  In 7 short biweekly, crazy expensive lessons, we will have a whole new dog.  He's actually not bad right now.  He needs some work on his walks and Ben needs some work on becoming an authority in Charlies eyes, but I think these sessions will benefit all of us.
We are actually working with Jons cousin who is a dog trainer.  I didn't know how amazing he was until our consultation last night.  He has some of the largest dogs I've seen.  Saying they are amazing just isn't adequate. After spending 10 minutes with him, Charlie was behaving better than he has in the past month.  I'm really hoping this transformation in Charlie will help Sam and Ellie get over their completely irrational fear of Charlie and we can all live happily ever after!

Cold

We've had a lot of ridiculously cold weather recently.  It was below 0 for most of last week.  The cold kept us inside too long and we were ready to brave it for some fresh air.  We grabbed Charlie and headed by one of the nature centers.  We did a little walking and met some other dogs.  The kids did better than I expected.  It was only 3degrees, so we kept it short.  Everyone had a good time and it was nice to get a change of scenery with the whole family.

Frozen

I think when a 4 year old girl has a birthday, a Frozen themed present is a sure winner.  Ellie got her birthday present from Uncle Tony and Aunt Marie (that was on back order) over the weekend.  Its a Frozen travel trunk.  Its a box (trunk) that holds an Anna and Elsa dress, headbands, bracelets, necklaces and rings.  Saying she loves it is the understatement of the year!  She wears the dresses pretty much all day long and we're always finding jewelry around the house after 1 of her 30 wardrobe changes.  I think she's shown me how she spins in each dress at least 5,000 times in the past 2 days. We have 1 happy birthday girl!

Sledding

The kids took advantage of the snow yesterday by making a mini sledding hill down our back steps. The babies went down with dad once or twice then were ready (especially Zach) to tackle the "hill" on their own.  They had a blast all afternoon and headed back out with their friends after dinner.  I think they all slept well last night.

Happy New Year

The past few weeks seemed to go by in a flash.  One minute we were putting up the tree.  The next minute we were watching the ball drop.  We ended the year pretty tame.  We laid low after Christmas waiting for everyone to be healthy again.  We made it out of the house a few times, but not for anything too fun.
Gram came up on New Years eve and Corrie came back for another sleep over.  Jon made us our traditional late night, amazingly unhealthy dinner.  We watched a movie, played with the dog and counted down to midnight.  Gram stayed for a few days, but we still kept it low key.  We played with toys from Christmas, headed out for lunch a few times and just enjoyed having Jon off work for 2 weeks.
We're back to reality now.  The boys are in school, Jon is back to work, the babies are crazy and Charlie discovered snow!  So far we're off to a good start.
The kids are modeling handmade pj's from Gram.
