Drive in
We went to the drive in last week. The weather was perfect, the kids were awesome and we all had a blast.

Swimming
The boys have had the first two meets of the season and are having a blast.
They've done 3 or 4 events in each meet. The mostly swim breast and free style.
They've already racked up a ton of ribbons from 2nd to 6th place. They've both been just a few seconds from first place.

Maybe next meet will bring the blue ribbon!

Pool time
We went from 60 to 90 degrees outside in just a couple days. We spent a lot of time at the pool this weekend to cool off. Zach was all about going under until he forgot his goggles when he jumped in which somehow caused him to swallow half the pool.
The water was pretty warm, but the wind was really cold when we got out.
Ellie wants to learn how to swim, but she doesn't want anyone to tell her how to do it. In true Ellie fashion, she taught herself how to doggie paddle under water. She still holds her nose and thats all she can do, but its a huge improvement from her last time swimming.

#2
Ellie lost her second tooth. You almost can't tell because the tooth behind it is half way in already, off center and crooked. She was our only hope for a metal free mouth as a teenager.

Memorial Day
We spent some time up at Marblehead on Memorial Day weekend.
We've never been there in the summer. I don't think the kids were a fan of the summer bugs.
Ben wanted to go up the lightouse. Its always closed when we're there in October so the kids were excited to check it out.
It was just a bit too much for Ben. He was very happy when we came back down.
Tofts is always a must when we're there.
So is Cheesehaven.
We also did some bowling over the weekend. Jon had his best game ever and would have been very upset if I didn't let everyone know. While it rained we had a little dance/music party.
We had a cookout, lots of treats and outside time. It was a great (unofficial) start to summer.

Moving up and on
The kids finished school last month. We now have a kid in middle school and third grade. Ben as a 6th grader just doesn't seem real. Ellie and Zach will both be moving on to 1st grade work in the fall. I'd like to see Ellie make a little more progress with reading over the summer, but we'll see where shes at when we get there.
The boys jumped right into swim team. Our city is the only one done so far so we get an extra week of practice, which our team needs!
We're adjusting to our new summer routine and looking forward to the next few months.
